This past weekend, I stepped outside just before sunrise and caught sight of Venus shimmering low on the horizon, a quiet beacon in the morning. It wasn’t a rare event, but it felt personal, like the sky was gently reminding me to keep going. There’s something grounding about seeing a familiar planet in a new light, especially when you’re deep in the process of creating something new yourself.
Because lately, I’ve been learning. A lot.
For the past few weeks, I’ve been building an app called Our Night Sky, a modular, spiritually resonant space where users can explore celestial events, devotionals, podcasts, and daily images in one seamless experience. And while the app is still coming soon, the journey of writing it has already changed me.
I’ve learned how to structure SwiftUI views with clarity and purpose. I’ve refactored models, integrated RSS feeds, and wrestled with asset management in Xcode. But more than the technical wins, I’ve discovered how good it is for me to learn something new. To stretch. To rebuild. To stay curious.
This isn’t just a technical project, it’s a spiritual one. Our Night Sky is meant to be a digital sanctuary, a place where science meets faith, and where the heavens declare the glory of God in pixels and prose. The excitement from early testers and podcast listeners has been humbling, and it reminds me that this work matters.
As Venus faded into the coming daylight, I felt a quiet joy. For the tools I’ve been given. For the clarity to rebuild when things break. For the poetic vision that turns code into communion. And most of all, for the grace to keep going.
If you’re curious, I invite you to visit OurNightSky.us. The app is coming soon, and I can’t wait to share it with you. Whether you’re a stargazer, a seeker, or someone simply looking for a moment of peace, there’s a place for you here.
Here’s to the quiet planets, the joy of learning, and the blessings that rise when we follow our calling.
Until next time, keep looking up!
